Meeting called to order (time and date):  7:05 PM   8/17/05


M. Hanna handed out minutes of 7/5/05: Yvonne Malikowski motioned to approve minutes, 2nd Bob Mahaffey All approved

Treasurer- Yvonne Malikowski: balance for  LLAPA of $309.68 with no activity. The Friends balance is $383.47.

Mary Hanna  motioned  to accept treasurer’s report, 2nd  John Jones– All approved

 Robin reported: Robin reported about the work on Phase II, and that she is requesting again a copy of the financial reports that identify the updated construction funding and expenses. Also, she has not been getting quarterly financial reports that have been repeatedly requested. The updated timeline reported to Robin is for completion of Phase II construction in April, 2006.  Update: Phase III- Before the next phase begins there will be a general survey of the entire park. The board would like to see the survey ASAP (as Phase II is constructed) so the building activities are not held back.


Old Business:

Yvonne Malikowski motioned to move John Jones to member position in replacement for  Tish Wodetzki who resigned; Mary Hanna second All approved.

Mary Hanna made a motion to create a committee called Friends of the Park Yvonne Malikowski 2nd All approved

Committee reports:

·        Publicity:

·        Election committee: Bob Mahaffey. 4 board members and 2 alternate positions are up for election. He will contact Lake LA News and AV Press for publicity of event.  Applications will be available at the county library, post office and Sorensen Park Office.  Applications must be delivered by hand to the park application box in the Sorensen Office building or  postmarked by November 2, 2005 and mailed to PO Box 500088, Palmdale, CA 93591 for the election November 16, 2005. The newly elected members will be installed at the January 26, 2006 meeting.

·        Fund raiser Committee: Dominic Fohrenkam

·        Bylaws Committee: Kathy Terrones handed out the draft of the new bylaws for review.

·        Friends of the Park Bob Mahaffey Bob shared a query letter he created. The booth for Lake LA Park Board will be at the park during Lake LA Day


Announcements next meeting board: 7:00 September 1, 2005 ; Next general meeting September 29, 2005 in Vista Multi-purpose room.
