Movies under the Stars
Movies Under the Stars: a Lake LA tradition. The movies are held out on the basketball court unless the winds are too high and affect the safety of using the screen and other equipment. In that case the movie will be moved inside the Lake Los Angeles Community Gymnasium. The east wall has been specially painted Silver Screen Paint to be the best surface for viewing . The paint was paid for by the Friends of the Park - know that all proceeds from the snack bar go back to making Los Angeles County's Deputy Stephen Sorensen Memorial Park the best park possible.
Free movies under the stars. The movies are on the outside basketball court. Bring your own chairs, and blankets for the kids to lay down. Bring sweaters as the desert can be much colder at night. The film starts at sunset so check your weather app to see when that is as the time changes. (Usually around 8 PM) Friends of the Park Snack bar is available inside the gymnasium lobby. The snack bar has sodas, water, Gatorade, hot dogs, nachos, chips, candy, and more. Most items are a dollar or less. There are raffles for each movies and the proceeds are used to support activities at the park. Free popcorn while it lasts.
